I started Before You Die Guy to try to encourage people to get off the couch and start crossing off bucket list stuff. I learned a lot along the way and I did my best to share my adventures and share how people could do them too. But I also found that there were places I didn’t really want to share with the world, places that would not be so special if they were so well known.
So now this is a place where I share stories, share videos and writings. It’s a place where I can post my silly commercials for the fake company I created called "Boots ‘R Us.” It’s a place where I can share sketches and drawings and thoughts and reflections. It was too much pressure to only be able to create things that were “on brand,” so now I’m just creating and sharing with the world as it comes out, whether that is meditation exercises, journal entries, or stupid boot commercials. It’s a hodge podge of crap and if there’s something you like here, I hope you’ll let me know! Thanks for stopping by!
Here’s my old about page:
My name is Ryan Waters and I’m the producer and host of Before You Die Guy, a bucket list series where I do bucket list stuff all over the world and show you how you can do the adventures yourself. My goal is to help bridge the gap between “Wow, I wish I could do that” and actually doing it. Because adventure and travel are for everyone, not just go pro athletes and contestants on the bachelor.
Wanna blow stuff up? Wanna skydive from a helicopter?! Wanna be in a high speed chase???!!!! You don’t have to be a celebrity or an action hero. It’s all doable and Before You Die Guy shows you how (and in most cases it's cheaper than you think.)
Several years ago, I stepped on board a tiny sail boat with three complete strangers and sailed across the largest transpacific crossing in the world- San Diego to Hawaii. I’d never been sailing before, I’d never been on the open ocean even, but 23 days later, I arrived in Lahaina, Maui with a new found confidence and an awakened soul. After that trip, I made it my mission to inspire others to take risks and live the life they choose to live.
I’m not a celebrity, I’m not sponsored, I’m just a regular guy who bought a camera, a computer and some cheap editing software and decided, I’m going to produce videos now. So please bare with me if my footage is a little shaky in the beginning and join me on a quest to cross bucket list stuff off today, not tomorrow.
